We are a small, locally rooted team from Arusha. We build every trip from scratch — around you, your pace, and what you actually want to see. And we are honest about everything: the prices, the parks, the best time to go, and when something isn't worth your money.
Between us, we have spent over a decade guiding and planning safaris in Tanzania. We know the parks in every season, the camps worth recommending, the guides worth trusting, and the roads that only locals know exist. At some point we decided we wanted to put all of that to work on our own terms — building trips the way we always believed they should be built.
So we started Jumbo Trails. Smaller, more careful, more honest. Every itinerary we send out is one we'd be comfortable going on ourselves. Every price we quote is one we can explain line by line. That's not a marketing position. That's just how we operate.
Local and international, by design. Our guides and planning team are based in Arusha. They know which road to take after the rains, which camp has the best guiding right now, and which stretch of the Serengeti is worth the extra hour of driving. We handle the marketing and PR from the Netherlands.
On sustainability. We keep our groups small, our vehicle numbers low, and we work with camps that take their environmental responsibilities seriously. We don't crowd a lion sighting with ten other vehicles. The best thing in the bush is space and quiet — we plan for that.
