Sorry for being such difficult guests

Trip of a lifetime, no question. Watching the sunrise over the Serengeti with giraffes walking past the camp… unreal. We were lucky enough to see a river crossing during the migration, which was intense and unforgettable. The whole experience felt very personal. Communication before the trip was time consuming, which was honestly my fault. I was very stubborn and didn't want to take advice from Tjerk, my safari-consultant. I believe he made endless proposals for us. But he is very very patient, and I am glad i finally listened to his advice. Once we arrived in Tanzania everything just worked. Food, accommodation, timing - no stress at all. Serengeti National Park really is as magical as people say. Ngorongoro Crater was just the perfect finale.

Luxury and white beaches, wow!

We both work extremely hard and long days in our camerashop in Hong Kong. So we really needed a break with our kids and we wanted to be spoiled (hahaha). When we arrived - 4 hours late because of delayed flights in the Middle East - we were afraid that our guide would be gone. But Steven was there for us with his Jumbo Trails-sign. This trip felt unreal from start to finish. We did a luxury safari through Serengeti and Ngorongoro, then flew to Zanzibar and it was the perfect combination. The safari itself was next level. Beautiful tented lodges, incredible food, and service that felt almost too good to be true. Private game drives, sundowners in the bush, and waking up to giraffes outside your room… just wow. Luxury safaris really are about the full experience - comfort, privacy, and seamless organization. Everything was like taken care of, so we could just enjoy it. Then Zanzibar was exactly what we needed after the safari - white beaches, warm ocean, total relaxation. The contrast between wild safari days and laid-back island vibes made the whole trip feel complete. Easily the best holiday we’ve ever done.

Next time we do the Southern Circuit

Amazing experience overall and definitely worth it. Tanzania is just next level for wildlife - so much more than we expected. Saw the Big Five and so many close encounters it almost felt unreal. There were a couple of long driving days between parks, which can be tiring, but that’s part of doing a Northern Circuit safari. The transfers between parks were scenic enough and in fact just as interestinmg as the game drives. Lodges were comfortable enough, and everything matched what was promised. Good value for money and very professional team. Would recommend, especially for a first safari. Next time we want to do a photo safari in the Southern Circuit; Ruaha National Park and Selous.

Thanks for our perfect honeymoon

My husband and I went on a ten day safari for our honeymoon in July 2025. It was incredible!! Our package was a combination of luxury lodge and luxury tents. Allthough i was hesitant to sleep in tents at first, the luxury tents were our favorite. Our guide was awesome and very knowledgeable about the wildlife. His English was good enough. Jumbo Trails made everything easy to plan even from continents away and took the stress out of travel with airport transfers/itineraries. We did a night safari as well which we added on last min, would recommend doing this and adding in advance! What surprised me where the flowers and complementary wine that came with our honeymoon trip.

Sweet Tanzania

We did a 6-day Northern Tanzania safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro), and it exceeded every expectation. The landscapes change so much - it never gets boring. One moment you’re surrounded by baobabs, the next you’re in the middle of the Serengeti plains with animals everywhere. What stood out most was how smooth everything was. Good vehicle, great lodges, and a guide who genuinely cared about our experience. You can tell how much the guide matters on a safari, and ours made the trip. Felt very authentic and not rushed at all. Tanzania is of course a third world country and that shows. People are not as rich as in the USA. But they are really sweet and welcoming. We never felt awkward or unsafe. Love to everybody in this amazing country.

Unique and caring honeymoon in Tanzania

We’re a Chinese couple from China and we found Jumbo Trails from safaribookings. I was contacting five different trip agents at the same time but Jumbo was the fastest replier. Our safri-coordinator planned us not only the classical trip but also gave us many unique experiences - horse riding, farm hiking, braiding and candlelight dinner. These made our trip so unforgettable. However, they did not only give us these unique experiences, the classic experiences were also full enough. Serengeti, Kilimanjaro mountain, Ngorongoro Crater, Zanzibar island… Our memories are full of stories and laughters. The only imperfection was the car issue. Our vehicle broke on a rough road which slowed our trip a little bit. However, we reckoned it was a small comma during our trip and it gave us more time to relax in the camping site. I would recommend Jumbo Trails to everyone and will definitely choose you again if I have another chance to go to Africa.

We will be back

Still can’t believe this trip actually happened. Tanzania completely blew us away. The Serengeti felt endless, and every game drive was something new - lions, elephants, even a leopard just casually in a tree. Our guide Omary was incredible, always spotting things before anyone else and explaining everything in a way that made it all come alive. Ngorongoro Crater was another highlight - like a natural wildlife arena. Everything was so well organized from Arusha pickup to the final drop-off. Honestly, one of those trips you’ll be talking about for years.

Highly recommended

We had a family Safari planned by Jumbo Trails - Tjerk, and would not change a thing. So easy to deal with! We gave them the dates, Tjerk did the rest. We stayed at beautiful hotels, they arranged transfers, and an additional flight to Zanzibar. Our guide was Luther, he was excellent! He was kind, polite and a good safe driver. He had extensive experience and a lot of knowledge which he shared with us. One day he looked at prints in the mud and then we tracked a pride of lions. Amazing. We would not hesitate to recommend this company, they truly have the best staff, they care about your experience, our family will remember this trip for the rest of our lives. Thank you Jumbo Trails!

5 stars doesn’t do this experience justice!

We had a 9 day trip and it all went extremely well. Acommodation & food was excellent and the overall plan was well organised. Some activity virtually all the time, as I had requested and it just worked out awesome. I'd like to point out my guide / driver Rashid who was extraordinary and always willing to go the extra bit and offer sugestions. A big thank you.

Just Do It!

If you’re on the fence about doing a budget camping safari - just do it. It was raw, real, and honestly unforgettable. Sleeping in a tent in the middle of the Serengeti with lions roaring somewhere in the distance… a bit scary at first, but incredible once you settle into it. The campsites are basic (shared bathrooms, simple meals cooked by our chef), but that’s part of the experience . What really matters is the wildlife, and that absolutely delivered - zebras grazing between the tents, huge herds in Tarangire, and nonstop action in the Serengeti. Our guide was amazing and made sure we saw everything possible. It’s not luxury, but if you care more about the experience than comfort, this is 100% worth it. Felt like a proper adventure.
